Fund Raising to Build a Rink in Moldova

Some weeks ago I received an email from Mr. Toribio Linares. I wouldn't expect never, the subject of it, the construction of a roller hockey rink in Chinisau, Moldova!!!!!

This would be the first rink of roller hockey ever in Moldova.

The plan was done by Mr. Linares and consist in a rink with 40x20 meters, according to FIRS rules. As everybody knows Moldova isn't a rich rountry, so the project needs external support.

Thus, Mr. Linares is calling for financial help until 31st December, and since there, the project starts. Everybody which support the project will have his name written on a board at the entrance of the rink.

In a document that I can send to interested people he describes all the plan even some prices of the material to use, giving examples that just with 4€ you can help buying 75kg of cement.
The entire document has 59 pages and everything concerning the construction is described, explained and illustrated - to the smallest design.

This is a very important project, that could be just the begging of our sport in Eastern Europe, and of course I hope that CERH could help also, like FIRS and Spain Roller Sports Federation are doing.

So if you want to help the project please send some money to the two availabe bank accounts, that make part of the Fund Raising of Public Roller Sports Association, "Scorpion", in Euros or Dolars.

Roller Hockey also present in books

Even in a World dominated by Internet nowadays, Books still have an important place concerning information.
Although there are some books about roller hockey, the situation could be much better. First information is written just in a few languages, and after there are almost any book about technical aspects.
This topic will promote four books:
  • "Campeonatos do Mundo de Hóquei em Patins-Contributos para a História"
  • "Basic Roller Hockey"
  • "ABC Roller Hockey"
  • "Roller Hockey Basic Tactics"
The first one is about history of the sport (in Portuguese), the three after concerns Coaching Manuals (in English), and the last one is about the femalle Chilean World Champions in 2006.

Book about the history of rink-hockey World Championships

The book about the history of Rink-Hockey World Championships is available at the editor Despertar Memórias.
The book was written by one of the persons that has contributed more to our sport, managing website, blog, databases..., just about roller hockey, Fernando Castro!
The book, with 388 pages, presents all the World Championships A (from 1936 to 2009) and B (from 1984 to 2010), as well as youth and women competitions, with indications of players, goalers, referees, coaches and other relevant informations.

Also, a section for the most relevant countries in rink-hockey is presented, with a list of participating players and some interesting statistics for each country.

Coaching 'Bibles' of Roller Hockey For Sale

For the past 20 years, the NRHA and many clubs including those in Herne Bay and Manchester have subscribed to the three books produced by Ismael Figueiredo: Basic Roller Hockey, ABC of Roller Hockey and Roller Hockey Book of Tactics.

These books will show you how to develop a beginners' basic skills from skating to ball control, to goalkeeping movement. They include great ways to plan your training sessions and how to develop players at the right pace. They show how to develop the players technical as well as tactical abilities and are useful to advanced players too. They also pay great attention to tactics from box/diamond defence to offensive plays. The books hold some of the greatest coaching secrets only the very best contemporary coaches know.

Carlos Amaral, National Coaching Director, bought his new copies on a pen drive for £25 (for all three!!) and you can now do the same for the same price, including post and package and the pen drive. All proceeds will go to burgeoning Maidstone RHC, Please see our club shop for more details.

Right way to promote Roller Hockey done in Austria and Israel

Finally after some ideas also gave here on Rolling Together, CERH understood the right way to promote our sport and expand it in different countries than the traditional ones.

Thus, CERH sponsored the "YOUTH CAMP" realized in Villach, Austria, from 30th July to 4th August. As reported by CERH and Mundook website the training camp had the collaboration of the portuguese coach, Luis Duarte. Happily the Camp was a success and soon we would like to see Austria's progress.

Lucas Sorio
Israel follow the same way

Israel nationals teams set out and begin their journey to 2012 world championship.

From 12th to 26th August, with the help of Mr. Lucas Sorio a professional Spanish coach, Israel will start to prepare their national teams to world cups of 2012, and who knows also junior teams to europenan cups. The activity will happen at the new hockey rink constructed in Beth lehem aglilit. You can follow all this important news at http://rinkhockeyinisrael.blogspot.com/

Brands and Roller Hockey, two dead ringers

Flyer of Federal RHPL
Everybody knows that to play a sport there are necessary stuff to use...
In the case of Roller Hockey, the most important, that distinguish from other kinds of hockey are the rollers and stick.

Unhappily the brands of Roller Hockey stuff are not so spread by the World as we wish. Another problem to add is the price of all stuff. Roller Hockey is famous to be quite expensive, and one of the reasons is the production of almost all the quads and sticks in Europe, and not in China, like in other sports.

On the next list we can find almost all the brands that produce or sell roller hockey equipment:

Stuff that Roller One offered to Addiction RHC
One of the ideas to help this companies to sell their products in other countries would be the sponsoring roller hockey events/teams/players/federations.
Several examples are available:
  • The Federal Roller Hockey Premier League, that will happen in October in New Delhi, India. Federal is a company from Catalonia, and they are one of the main supporters of the tournament.
  • Roller One (Portuguese brand) is supporting Addiction Roller Hockey Club from India, with stuff, and also French Federation.
  • Reno (Catalan Brand) sponsors Pinamar team (Uruguay), Hockey in Israel and Hockey in Mexico
  • TDV (Portuguese Brand) supports  English Federation and English National Teams.
It's very necessary to have an intensive relation between our sport and their stuff suppliers.
It is simple to conclude that if our sport grows up also the companies will grow, if he die, also the companies will die.

One more time entrepreneur is the base to know what is the better way to do this connection.
If you have ideas or more examples of this connection or other brands that are not presented here feel free to add a comment
