New Roller Hockey Book-"50 Minuti di Gloria"

One more bible of Roller Hockey
Since the beginning of XX century that roller hockey started to write several pages of history.
Fortunately in last years some people started to transcribe all this history to books, something that wasn't done until nowadays. After the release of the Portuguese book "Campeonatos do Mundo de Hóquei em Patins-Contributos para a sua história", written by Fernando Castro, and edited by Despertar Memórias, now it's time for an Italian book about our favorite sport.

With the title "50' Minuti di Gloria", this amazing work was written by Paolo Virdi, and editted by Lodinotizie. This great work includes 2 Books, one from 1982 to 1996, and the other from 1997 to 2012.
The first book is available since September 2012, and since 8th March 2013 the collection is complete.
Although it is written in Italian this is a fantastic present for all roller hockey lovers all over the World.
You can buy each book for 16€ more shipping costs, or all books for 32€ more shipping costs on the follow website.

It is important to notice that one of the most famous roller hockey brand, Meneghini Hockey System supported this work.
And the question now is, when and from where will come the next Roller Hockey Book???

Even if some people like to ignore our roller sport, it history is bigger than this people!!!

Let's Roll Forever!!!

Aldo Baraldi returns to prepare the Montevideo 2012

Mr. Aldo Baraldi (source:Gazzetadimodena)
An amazing news for Indian Roller Hockey!!!
After some years without come back to India Aldo Baraldi was invited again by RSFI to be the national coach of our country.
As we know India have this year two important competitions to dispute, FIRS B World Cup (held in Montevideo), and the Roller Sports Asian Games (not decided the city yet).

The Italian newspaper Gazzettadimodena has reported that Mr. Baraldi is  traveling, at this moment, to Faridabad, where will be hosted the national championship. The plan is to select over 30 players to the first conduct training and to meet with the leaders of the Federation, and State Associations.
Thus Mr. Baraldi will be in India during a month with our players for an initial preparation.
After this first stage, the group will have other meetings that will require the continued presence of Mr. Baraldi in India to select the final fifteen players.

About is curriculum, Mr. Baraldi belongs to the legendary team of Amatori Modena, which has won two national championships. At the end of his brilliant career, was coach, of players like Davide Malagoli, Andrea Pontiroli, and his son Massimo Baraldi.
Once again his knowledge of hockey has convinced the leaders of India Federation to return. His work in India allowed an effective progress on the technical-tactical and excellent results in the international competitions. Aldo Baraldi, will be accompanied by his wife Joan.

This is the right way and it is an excellent news that RSFI had done this agreement with an International Coach which can bring new ideas to develop our Hockey. Like other countries as Israel this is an important partnership to prepare the 2012 Competitions.

Who says that Women don't play Roller Hockey in Italy???

They didn't give up
One of the reasons advanced in 1992 to no continue with Roller Hockey in Olympic Games was the fact of not existence a solid women's roller hockey system. Thus international federations did efforts to change all this situation an start women's international competitions of roller hockey. In 1988, CERH organized a first tournament in Eldagsen (Germany), before the first official one to happen lately in 1991. At this time Italy appeared as one of main and strongest teams, having this curriculum:
  • 2x European Championships (1991, 1993)
  • 2x vice World Championship
  • 2x vice European Championships (1995, 1997)
  • 1x third position in European Championship (2001)
After all these successes, the participation of Italy in international competitions, stopped in 2006, being the last appearence in Chile's World Cup, where was ranked as 11th classified. Nowadays seems that Italian Federation has abandoned the women's project in our sport. Althought the passion for it didn't disappeared and this year there's a female team playing at the Juniors U-17 Championship against boys teams. The Roller Bassano Grapa gives the opportunity to all these women's to play their favorite sport. Another example of womens persistence in Italian roller hockey, was one reported last year in Italian media, about a young girl that was taking part of Corregio team.
Playing for the U-17 Championhip
The team is composed by 7 players:
  • Laura MINUZZO (#6)
  • Maria CRIVELLARO (#5)
  • Elena TOFFANIN (#9)
  • Giulia GRENDENE (#3)
  • Stefania MENIN (#23) Goalkeeper
  • Paola ZOLIN (#59) Goalkeeper
  • Sara BROTTO (#2).
and has as responsible Claudia SCRIMIN and Alessandro MILANI "Bibi" .
They know how to defend
Rolling Together is sure that like these women's in Bassano de la Grappa, could exist more in Italy, which would like to play an Italian League just for ladies. Of course, this depends of FIHP (Italian Federation of Roller Hockey). So it's time to have again Ragazzas in European and World Roller Hockey.

A New ERA in Roller Hockey and TV

After many years without Roller Hockey live on TV, seems that situation is changing finally in Portugal and Spain.
There are two main reasons to reach this amazing goal for our sport:
  1. A big effort by federations together with public and private TV's;
  2. Web TV's started to grow and to prove that Roller Hockey still has market.
In Portugal the "Primeira Divisão" (Firs Division) was always broad-casted until some years ago, when the Portuguese Roller Sports Federation stopped the agreement with RTP, public TV.
However the agreement was renovated again and all the season of  2011/2012 will have at least a match broad-casted at 15:00 (+0 GMT Portuguese Time) all Saturdays.

In Spain the agreement was concluded between Spanish Federation and two channels TV3 and RTVE, being transmitted all Monday at 21:00 hours (+1 GMT, Spanish Time) in these channels and also in RFEP TV.

Italy keeps the agreement with RAI (not available by internet out of Italy) broadcasting weekly the games of the Italian league.

Beside the National Federation Agreements there are WEBTV's that also will transmit some matches of each competition. Usually this channels are part of the clubs, but others regional channels like:

Portugal:
 Italy:
Argentina:
Chile
These are very important examples, and all Roller Hockey Fans would like to watch soon the same in other countries. It's very important to countries like France, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, Colombia... where the Roller Hockey wants to reach other lever to guarantee transmissions by television or internet...

On the next Portuguese Link you can have weekly almost all matches in all Europe that have Broadcast by TV and WebTV:

Do you want to do the Same and create a WEBTV??
Watch it

Just an important reminder, that for the first time ever all matches in FIRS World Cup Senior and Junior were broadcasted by WebTV's...
